ICU.B unit commenced its activity in 2005. With an area of 180 square meters, this unit has 8 beds one of which is put inside the isolation room. This unit is located on the first floor of the hospital.
ICU.B unit is equipped with the state-of-the-art facilities required in intensive care units including central monitoring system and its accessories, central oxygen and suction, eight standard beds with raging mattresses and other appliances and equipment for ICU.
In 2012, ICU.B unit saw 1020 inpatients most of whom, diagnosed with coronary artery disease, replacement and repair of cardiac valves, congenital cardiovascular diseases in children and adults, underwent heart surgery and on the first day after surgery, they were transferred from ICU.A to this unit. It is the patients admitted to surgery units I and II who need medical care and intensive care nursing.
With respect to patient's need for intensive care, ICU.B unit is very crucial and important. This importance has been achieved through enjoying trained and skilled nursing staff.
As the quality improvement statistics and indicators show and according to the attending physicians, ICU.B unit provides the best health and nursing services of the highest quality with respect to rendering postoperative services especially to the patients suffering from complications after the surgery.
The medical staff of the ICU.B unit consists of the following persons:
3 subspecialists in cardiovascular surgery, 2 cardiac anesthesia fellowships and that of intensive cares; 5 anesthesiologists, 22 registered nurses, 7 nursing assistants, 1 secretary, and 1 servant.
