Definition of Rehabilitation:

Cardiac rehabilitation constitutes a supervised exercise program with the aim of improving life quality. Achieving a living of quality refers to the possibility of daily living at one's level of expectations, with the least limit in terms of mental and physical ability.

To treat most of the problems of patients with heart diseases, drug is used the result of which is usually satisfactory. However, the most important fault in patients with heart disease, that can decrease their quality of life, is their decreased ability to physical, mental and social performance. To treat such fault, drug does not work and rehabilitation interventions need to be implemented.

 :Indications for cardiac rehabilitation in patients with history of the following include 

 Atherosclerotic coronary arteries  -

   Acute coronary disease  -

   Myocardial infarction  -

 Coronary artery bypass surgery  -

   PTCA or balloon angioplasty  -

  Heart transplant  -

      Sustainable congestive heart failure  -

      Diabetic patients  -

 Patients with high blood pressure  -

11. All people who want to start exercise after the age of 40

Participation in a cardiac rehabilitation exercise program may essentially decrease the risk of a heart attack.

In this respect, the Cardiac Rehabilitation unit of Javad Al-Aemeh Heart Charity Hospital in Mashhad was put into operation in 2006, with an area of about 450 square meters on the 3rd floor of the hospital.

This unit is among the earliest and most prolific limited rehabilitation centers throughout the country after Tehran Heart Center Hospital. While educating about 2500 patients and their families during one year, this unit hosts 900 patients in the third phase of cardiac rehabilitation.

Medical staff of the cardiac rehabilitation unit includes the supervisor of the rehabilitation unit, a physician in charge of the rehabilitation unit, a matron and two registered nurses, a psychologist, a nutritionist, a secretary, nursing assistant and a servant.
