Cath Lab

Early diagnosis of coronary artery disease has an important role in early treatment of coronary artery diseases. The most important diagnostic tool for this purpose is angiography. Coronary angiography can provide physicians with good information on anatomical and structural condition of these arteries.

This unit was opened in April 2002 and on average 600 to 650 patients per month are admitted to the cardiac catheterization unit of Javad Al-Aemeh Heart Charity Hospital.

The services rendered in this unit include:

-         Coronary angiography

-         Peripheral artery angiography

-         Coronary angioplasty, that of renal, iliac, lower limb

-         Valvuloplasty or PTMC

-         IVC filter placement

-         Electrophysiology study or EPS

-         Ablation

-         Temporary pacemaker (TPM) placement

-         Permanent pacemaker (PPM) placement

-         ICD placement

-         CRT placement

Medical staff of this unit consists of 8 registered nurses, 2 radiologists, 4 radiology technicians, 3 nursing assistants, 2 secretaries and one servant.

Cath Lab is open and works at two shifts from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm except holidays. (In night shift and holidays, on-call personnel are ready to serve patients for emergency services such as Primary PCI).
